Michael Fitzpatrick is Vice President and Director of Editorial Services for Van Prooyen Greenfield LLP. Mr. Fitzpatrick worked for nearly 20 years as a reporter and editor for one of the world’s largest news agencies, provides expert writing, editing and message development services for clients that include leading law firms and top financial service companies.
His recent work includes an advertorial in Business Week, as well as executive-bylined articles for publications such as the National Law Journal, Executive Counsel, Small Firm Business, International Human Resources Journal, National Underwriter and Broadcast Cable Financial Management. He teaches news writing and reporting at Rutgers University, where he is a part-time lecturer in the department of Journalism and Mass Media.
Before leaving Reuters in 2002, he ran North American technology and media coverage from New York, overseeing a team of more than two dozen reporters around the United States and Canada. Prior to that, he ran West Coast financial coverage for Reuters from Los Angeles, managing the full spectrum of financial news from Houston to San Francisco and Seattle.
As a reporter for Reuters, he covered financial stories such as World Trade Organization meetings, International Monetary Fund officials, OPEC, and mergers and acquisitions. He covered top entertainment stories including the Oscar, Grammy and Emmy awards; sports events ranging from the Goodwill Games to the Super Bowl and the World Series; as well as the Los Angeles riots, San Francisco earthquakes and other major general news stories.
