Amy V. Greenfield, Esq. taught a continuing legal education course providing guidance to attorneys on the amended New York Attorney Advertising Rules at Lawline in New York City. The taped segment is available nationwide through Lawline.com. On February 1, 2007, The New York State Unified Court System and the New York State Bar Association implemented regulations to protect consumers from inappropriate, aggressive or misleading advertisements. The reforms not only address advertising through traditional media but also through electronic media such as the Internet, requiring, for example, that law firms post the words “Attorney Advertising” on their home pages.
