Since our founding, we have had a strong commitment to public service. We are proud to provide pro bono services to those most in need. For our counselors, pro bono work is not the exception; rather it is encouraged as part of their ongoing client counsel.
We are especially proud to provide services to Life After Exoneration Program and Break The Cycle.
Break The Cycle engages, educates and empowers youth to build lives and communities free from domestic and dating violence. The organization envisions a world in which young people are empowered with the rights, knowledge and tools to achieve healthy, nonviolent relationships and homes.
Life After Exoneration is the only national organization which is dedicated to helping survivors of wrongful conviction re-enter society and rebuild their lives. Life After Exoneration presents a compelling picture of the growing role of DNA evidence in helping to free the wrongfully convicted and how society turns its back on the men after they are freed. Most states don’t offer compensation to the wrongfully convicted and some states do not even expunge their convictions.
The Life After Exoneration Program is working to ensure that exonerees have access to badly needed services, and the program also is working to have statutes enacted in all 50 states to compensate those who have been wrongfully convicted and to establish a nationwide program of government support similar to the services provided to real criminals on parole. The organization's mission is to address the injustice of wrongful conviction and incarceration by assisting exonerees and their family members in re-building their lives on the outside, by working to secure their physical, spiritual, psychological, social and economic well being.
